AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A POLICY PROHIBITING SEXUAL HARASSMENT.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REVISED CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF OBLONG, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the Illinois General Assembly has recently enacted Public Act 100-0554, an Act concerning government, which became effective immediately, dated November 16, 2017;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Act, each governmental unit shall adopt an ordinance establishing a policy to prohibit sexual harassment;
WHEREAS, all prior existing sexual harassment policies of this Municipality shall be superseded by the Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment adopted by this Ordinance;
BE IT ORDAINDED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OBLONG, ILLINOIS, THAT:
SECTION 1: Amendment. The following exhibit shall amend “The Revised Code
of Ordinances” of the Village of Oblong, Illinois” and shall be as follows:

SECTION 2: Severability pf Provisions. Each section, paragraph, sentence,
clause and provision of this Ordinance is severable, and if any provision
is held unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall
not affect the remainder of the Ordinance, nor any part thereof, other
than that part affected by such decision.
SECTION 3: Conflicting Ordinances. Any conflicting ordinances, code provisions
or pertinent portions thereof in effect at the time this ordinance takes
effect are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: Effective. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form
as provided by law.
Passed this 3rd day of January, 2018 by the Village Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oblong, Illinois, and deposited and filed in the office
of the Village Clerk in said Village on that date.
